A dashboard is not observability

A dashboard can make bad data look calm.

I care less about how many charts a system has and more about whether I can explain a number. Which provider returned it? How old is it? Was it cached? Did another source disagree?

That is observability to me: enough evidence to know when the product should trust a result, show uncertainty, or stop.
